What you do as a UX/UI Designer
Our clients operate in many different industries and are located all over the world. But they all have one thing in common: the need to connect the digital world with the physical one. And as our new UX/UI Designer, you play an important role in this process. By merging their business objectives with our Digital Twin services and data, you help our clients to improve decision-making, optimise processes, manage risk and develop more informed solutions to today’s big societal and environmental challenges.
But what are Digital Twins? Driven by real-time data, a digital twin is a virtual mirror of a real-world asset, process or entire system, like a supply chain or city. It unites insights through state-of-the-art game engine based, 3D (AR/VR) interfaces.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Lead the testing of concepts and designs of needed features, in collaboration with internal and external customers and our development teams.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to convert feature designs into User Stories and to priorities these on the backlog for the team.
- Translate User Stories into User Interfaces together with the (front end) developers in the team. The (3D) UI development is done by our inhouse development team.
- Optimise the interaction in with the DevOps team.
You will be part of our UX community and work in various product teams. The UX community has the purpose to optimise client satisfaction by simplifying complexity of the interaction with our software and our organisation. The product teams create the business value for our clients.

Where you will work
Your new team is part of the Business Unit Software and is working on the concept of a Digital Twin. The team has started with integrating end-user insights from different existing software groups into a User Interface, using a 3D game engine. This is being tested with clients through paid solutions and demos. Next steps are to integrate these solutions further into a coherent platform product, and to develop a configurator to make implementation for clients easy and reliable.
We collaborate with other development teams in realising new (backend) features (managed via our implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework). And of course, we use the latest digital technologies to translate data into insights and prospects. In this way we structurally support our clients in taking the next step in the continuous optimization and sustainability of their business operations.
What you bring
You show initiative and take ownership. This gives you the ability to take ideas from concept through prototype design and on to feature delivery with an Agile software development team. With your flexible and inventive mindset and good communication skills, coping with different needs and ideas from various internal and external customers, is no problem for you.
Furthermore, you have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant design field (e.g., UX, Industrial, Digital or Software), another relevant technical field or a comparative professional portfolio.
- At least 3 years of UX experience with SaaS based software
- Experience in UX/UI design of a platform product, that can be easily configured for different use cases and end-users
- Affinity with Business-to-Business software in the ‘built environment’, like Asset Management, Industry 4.0 (analytics-, monitoring-, or control of asset/process performance.
