Accounting & Reporting Specialist

The accounting and reporting specialists within Policies & Procedures (P&P) monitor (inter)national developments with regard to financial reporting and supervision for banks and insurance companies, translate these developments into the global policies of the Group and advise the Group's Executive Board and Business lines on the application thereof. The Group reports under IFRS as its primary basis of financial reporting. Furthermore, The Group is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US because of its listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

Job description

As an accounting and reporting specialist within P&P, you will be responsible for The Group's financial reporting principles under IFRS and under financial reporting requirements from its supervisors DNB, AFM and SEC. Your responsibilities include:

·         monitoring (inter)national developments in requirements that are relevant for  financial reporting under IFRS in annual and interim accounts and financial reporting to supervisors (DNB, AFM and SEC);

·         translating these developments into the policies and manuals of the Group;

·         advising and supporting business units in implementing and applying such policies;

·         advising on the accounting and solvency treatment of specific transactions;

·         developing reporting formats (annual and interim accounts and SEC Form 20-F)

·         ensuring compliance with applicable regulations;

·         participating in special projects concerning, including for example, Basel III and Solvency II).

Your profile

·         Preferably a University degree in economics or accounting.

·         Qualification as a registered accountant/auditor (RA, CPA or equivalent).

·         Fluency in spoken and written English, good verbal and written communication skills.

·         At least several years' experience in financial reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and/or supervisory reporting in the financial industry is a prerequisite.

Organizational context

Group Finance is the financial heart of the Group. Group Finance & Control is responsible for financial accounting, regulatory reporting and management accounting of the Group, including Bank and Insurance. Furthermore, GF&C acts as an adviser to the Executive Board and general management of the Group's Business lines. Policies & Procedures (P&P) is part of GF&C.
